Scholarship Program

Like students everywhere, the children of Humjibre are eager to learn. However, many families find it difficult to pay senior high school fees, which are often over 50% of the family's annual income for each student. In addition, as there are no senior high schools in Humjibre, students are required to find the funds for board and lodging.

Since 2005, GHEI has helped a total of 59 students to further their education by paying the majority of the costs for continuing their education. There are currently 40 students benefiting from the program and 19 have graduated from SHS.

In September 2010 we had 27 applications for scholarships but were only able to award scholarships to 9 students.

How You Can Help
Every child deserves the chance to attend high school. With the generous support of individuals, GHEI has been able to award scholarships to approximately ten students each year. However, each year there are many more deserving students to whom we cannot award scholarships. Your help can change the trajectory of a child's life.

Each scholarship is for $900 - this enables a child to attend all four years of high school. You may wish to donate a portion of a scholarship; any donation is welcome and directly helps a child attend high school. Please donate.
