Girls' Leadership Camp
July 26 - August 9, 2026
In rural communities like Humjibre, girls possess incredible potential to become leaders and innovators. However, cultural, social, and economic factors often limit the opportunities available to them, especially when family responsibilities are high and education is not always prioritized.

Our Girls' Leadership Camp provides a safe and supportive space where girls can learn vital life skills, build confidence, and prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.

The camp serves as a bridge between junior high and senior high school; helping girls navigate this transition with the tools and support they need to succeed.
By investing in girls' education and supporting their ambition, we create pathways towards greater opportunities – not just for individuals, but for entire communities. Empowered girls become empowered women, whose contributions drive positive change in Ghana and beyond.

Goal
Strengthen girls’ voices and leadership potential by helping them build self-trust, speak with confidence, and take initiative — all within a culturally respectful setting.
“I witnessed a powerful mindset shift among teenage girls when they were introduced to new skills and experiential learning activities, including financial and career opportunities. Their openness, eagerness to learn, and desire to contribute were the most inspiring aspects."
Jovana Savic Mboga, GHEI 2026 Girls Leadership Camp Advisor and Education Program Coordinator 2017-2019

This collaborative planning process is a great way to learn, connect, and be part of a meaningful impact journey. We cannot wait to see your creativity and passion come to life!

On-site
Once in Humjibre, you will collaborate closely with our local Ghanaian team to fine-tune your sessions, ensuring they are culturally appropriate and aligned with the specific needs and interests of the girls attending.

One of the most meaningful parts of the session is being paired with a participant for personal connection and mentorship. This one-on-one interaction through home visits and shared experiences will open the door to real conversations and lasting bonds.

Who will I work with?

“I was part of the Girls Empowerment campers of year 2010. During the session, we were taught how to be strong as girls in society and break the myth surrounding self-esteem and confidence. One of the model mentor women who spoke to us via skype call, said to us, “your destiny is in your own hands, you can do it to see yourselves in your dream positions (careers).”
In 2010, we had just sat for the BECE, I was a very shy student, recoiled when intimidated by boys in my class. It was difficult for me to construct a simple tense in English correctly so I nearly did not sign up for the camp. Guess what? After 2 weeks engagement at the camp, I became the best camper with excellent performance and high moral leader; this has driven me throughout my second cycle and tertiary academic journey to my professional career. This program really led me to become a Mechanical Engineer instead of a beautician.”
Janet Ofori Amanfo, Mechanical Engineer, 2010 Girls' Empowerment Camp participant
