Special project internship (Salesforce integration)

GHEI’s Mission is to enable communities in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District of Ghana to improve their children’s health, learning success and opportunities by building local capacity and providing necessary resources and support.


The Ghana Health and Education Initiative (GHEI) is seeking an Intern whose primary responsibilities will to spearhead our ongoing transition to the Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) platform. The goal is to streamline our existing systems into Salesforce for use by GHEI board, staff and volunteers. We have an aggressive goal of completing this integration by the end of 2018.

The successful applicant should have experience with Salesforce administration and usage; familiarity with applying Salesforce to nonprofit contexts; and full proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Experience migrating data from Excel and CRM systems to Salesforce is strongly preferred.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Analysis of GHEI’s current data systems

  • Setting up GHEI’s Salesforce account to effectively migrate and manage GHEI’s data and CRM needs/efforts

  • Troubleshooting as necessary post-implementation

  • Training to end-users on effective Salesforce use

QUALIFICATIONS - The qualified candidate will be able to commit to 15 hours per week of work remotely. The candidate will have excellent writing, verbal, proof reading, editing, and organizational skills. Ideal candidates will also be flexible team players, self-motivated and detail-oriented individuals with a desire to utilize technology to solve challenges both locally and globally. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and should have prior experience with Salesforce. They will also have ability to prioritize and work well under deadlines. Computer aptitude, data analysis and Microsoft Office experience also required.

TIME COMMITMENT - 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months. Schedule will be set at beginning of internship, but is flexible based on work/life/school schedule. Internship will be completed remotely.

COMPENSATION - This is an unpaid internship.


REPORTS TO: Director of Development

BENEFITS - This internship will provide the qualified candidate with great opportunities for job skill development. This position will provide an opportunity to learn about the development community, NGO capacity building and the issues facing our communities in rural Ghana. The intern may gain additional skills and will receive a letter of recommendation from GHEI after successful completion of internship.
