Lawrence Donkor, GHEI’s Library Administrator/ Librarian began working at GHEI in 2009 to help his community improve their education. He manages and implements the day-to-day activities of Humjibre Community Library, is involved in various projects, and serves as the electrician at GHEI.

 

Lawrence comes from Humjibre, where he completed junior high school. He then moved to Wa, Upper West Region for three years, to be trained as an apprentice in auto mechanic, before pursuing a technician certificate at Kumasi Technical Institute.

 

He grew to love books, and although he originally had the intention of becoming a lawyer, then a technician, he is happy with his position, surrounded by books, at GHEI.

 

He is married and has three children. He will continue working for GHEI to improve literacy and the quality of education in Humjibre, and other local areas in Ghana.
