Elena has been involved with GHEI since early 2013, when she began a two-year post as the organization’s Communications Officer. Her achievements in that time include improving GHEI’s social media and fundraising strategy, SSL coordination, and the relationships built with her colleagues in Humjibre.

Elena is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration in Development Practice at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in New York City. She is passionate about community development, and plans to continue a career in harnessing contextual knowledge and expertise to provide effective solutions to poverty reduction in sub-Saharan Africa. Elena holds Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Psychology from Boston College.
